GOOD NEWS FOR YOU

Is prayer your steering wheel or your spare tire?

The Blink of an Eye

Orange cones abruptly narrowed the northbound highway into one lane. I felt a surge of irritation --- isn’t there any place in this town that’s safe from road construction?

Then I saw the fire department rescue squad and other emergency vehicles spread all over the southbound side. And I saw two cars, crumpled against the railing an mangled beyond recognition of make and model. There was no way any one could have survived. I thought. And I remembered the words of James in the Bible. “What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes” (James 4:14b).

Had they seen it coming? Or had they been driving down the road with their thought intent on the activities of the day, when suddenly, eternity was upon them? And I wonder how they faced it… with assurance? Or with terror?

Should eternity come suddenly upon you as it did for at least one of those drivers that day, how will you face it?

Will it be without fear, knowing on the other side God is waiting to welcome you into His Kingdom? We don’t know when that day will come. It could be fifty years from now. Then again, it could be to-day.

You can prepare for that moment if today you place your life in the hands of Jesus, who gave His own life to assure that you would be able to face eternity without fear or regrets.

How to Know You’re Ready ...

Pray this pray: “Lord Jesus, I know that I’m a sinner. I believe that you died on the cross and shed your blood to pay the penalty for my sins. Please forgive me and come into my life. You are my Savior and Lord.”
