Fundraiser Banquet May 6, 2006 was held at the Alliance Church in Chilliwack,
B.C. for the Crossroads Chapel.
It was our
prayer that God would be given control and receive all the glory. This prayer was
answered in every step of planning, which was very exciting for us.
There were
many trucking companies that sponsored tables, also many businesses and
individual people that are not in the trucking business supported us in
sponsoring tables, others in hosting tables.
We sincerely
thank each one who sponsored tables, hosted tables, donated items for the silent
auction and the gift draws and attended the banquet. Each one supported us in
many ways.
Our 55 Plus
group at our church volunteered to help before we even thought of asking them,
that was very encouraging for us.
The Caterers
Frank & Evelyn and volunteers provided a wonderful meal and fully volunteered
their time to make this a successful event. So many generous people have blessed
us in so many ways. Local businesses sold us food items at cost and less, also
some food donations; live plants were donated for table centerpieces by a local
greenhouse.
A special
thank you to the prayer partners. It was evident that our dear prayer partners
were in earnest prayer for God’s direction in this outreach to present the work
of Transport For Christ.
The gospel was
presented in a powerful way thought the anointed ministry of the “Young Street
Vocal Band”.
The love of
God was evident as Retired Transport For Christ Chaplain Don Hanna gave his
testimony. Don also shared how the love and faithfulness of Christian friends
helped him grow in the Lord as a new Christian.
We were
pleased to have our Canadian Director Dennis Finnamore attend and share
concerning Transport For Christ. This was helpful to many present that knew very
little about the ministry of T.F.C.
I am thankful
for the Volunteer Chaplains and wives from the “Crossroads Chapel” who worked
many hours helping to put this evening together. We had a fun time, but what is
more important is what God will do next, what are His plans for the days, months
and years ahead for each one of us!!!
The
harvest is indeed plentiful.
